In order to implement President Xi Jinping's important initiative to achieve 10 million mutual tourist visits between China and the Arab world over the next five years, the 2025 GCC-China Tourism Trade Fair was held in Dubai from September 23rd to 24th, with the support of the Chinese Embassy in the UAE, the Consulate General in Dubai, and the Chinese Cultural Center in the UAE. Chinese Ambassador to the UAE Zhang Yiming, Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai Wang Yi, and Emirates Airlines Senior Vice President H.H.Sheikh Majid Al Mualla attended the opening ceremony.
Ambassador Zhang stated in his speech that tourism cooperation is an important public support for practical cooperation between China and the Arab world, and between China and the Gulf States. China is willing to make use of platforms such as the Tourism Trade Fair to encourage more friends from the UAE and other Gulf countries to explore a real, multifaceted, and vivid China, experience the essence of traditional and modern Chinese culture and art up close, and continuously enhance people-to-people bonds.
The trade fair attracted more than 110 Chinese overseas tourism agencies to participate, and all parties conducted in-depth business negotiations on inbound and outbound tourism between China and the GCC, exhibition visits, and cultural and museum experiences.
