On September 17, Ambassador Zhang Yiming visited the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain and had a meeting with Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Federal Supreme Council of the UAE. The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Sheikh Rashid, Deputy Ruler Sheikh Ahmed, and Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai, Wang Yi.

Ambassador Zhang expressed his great pleasure in visiting the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain and congratulated Sheikh Saud on his leadership in the remarkable achievements in Umm Al Quwain's economic and social development. China-UAE relations are currently at the best, setting an example for state-to-state relations. China is willing to further enhance practical cooperation and strengthen people-to-people exchanges with Umm Al Quwain, thereby promoting the deepening and substantive development of China-UAE relations.

Sheikh Saud warmly welcomed Ambassador Zhang and his delegation, praising the brotherly ties between the UAE and China. He said that the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain attaches great importance to its relations with China, and is willing to expand exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields. In addition, he welcomes more Chinese companies to invest and develop businesses in Umm Al Quwain.
