Good evening!

Today we gather together to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. On behalf of the Chinese Embassy in the UAE, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the guests, and express my sincere greetings and heartfelt gratitude to friends from all walks of life who have long cared about and supported China's development and China-UAE relations.

For 76 years, China has continuously contributed to global development. The Communist Party of China has led the Chinese people in a magnificent epic journey, from standing up, becoming prosperous, and becoming strong. China has embarked on a new journey of comprehensively promoting the construction of a strong country and national rejuvenation with Chinese Modernization. This year marks the conclusion of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Over the past five years, China has firmly adhered to high-quality development and high-level opening up, achieving comprehensive victory in the fight against poverty. Economic growth is expected to exceed 35 trillion yuan. During the first four years in the 14th Five-Year Plan, China’s average economic growth was about 5.5%, ranking as one of the highest among major economies worldwide, and China's contribution to global economic growth has remained around 30%. From holding the four rounds of China-US trade talks to the hosting of the China International Import Expo, China has consistently taken pragmatic actions to safeguard the overall international economic situation, providing more stability and certainty to a turbulent world.

The leadership of the Communist Party of China is the greatest advantage of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics, and it is the core code that has enabled the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics to continue to expand. The Communist Party of China has continuously forged and tempered itself with the spirit of self-revolution, and always maintains its vitality. Since the new era, the Communist Party Central Committee with President Xi Jinping at its core has led Chinese people in upholding the leadership of the Party, the people being masters of the country; adhering to the rule of law and the organic unity. It has actively promoted people's democracy throughout the entire process, prioritized scientific and technological innovation at the core of national development, comprehensively implemented the rural revitalization strategy, continuously strengthened the institutional system for ecological civilization, and significantly improved the modernization of the national governance system and capacity, providing new options for humanity in exploring the path of modernization and a better social system.

The 80th anniversary marks the beginning of a new era, drawing lessons from the past and looking to the future, as China shared its responsibility for world peace. On September 3rd 2025, we solemnly commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, resolutely safeguarding the achievements of the Second World War and the post-war international order. Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative at the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus" summit, offering a Chinese approach imbued with Eastern wisdom to reform and improve the global governance system. It has become another important international public principle proposed by China after the Global Development, the Global Security and the Global Civilization initiatives. The victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression restored Taiwan to Chinese territory, and the One-China Principle became a norm in international relations. China firmly strives for justice, peace, and development for the people of the Middle East; China appreciates the efforts made by the UAE and other regional countries to promote development and prosperity. China has always firmly supported the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights and will continue to work for a ceasefire in Gaza, and promote an early, comprehensive, just and long-lasting solution to the Palestinian issue on the basis of relevant UN resolutions and the "two-state solution."

For over 40 years, China and the UAE have walked hand in hand, writing a new chapter for human progress. Under the guiding principles of President Xi Jinping and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, China-UAE relations have entered historically best period, serving as the vanguard of China's relations with regional countries. The two sides have consistently respected and firmly supported each other's core interests, solidifying strategic mutual trust. The high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative between China and the UAE has yielded fruitful results. China remains the UAE's largest trading partner, with trade volume exceeding US$50 billion in the first half of 2025 and is expected to surpass US$100 billion for the whole year. In addition, Chinese new energy vehicles such as BYD, NIO, Xpeng and AVATR can be seen on the streets of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Autonomous vehicle companies such as WeRide, Xpeng Huitian flying car company and Robo-taxi company LoBo KuaiPao have each obtained the first testing or operating license in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah respectively. Meituan's Keeta drone food delivery service has started in Dubai and will come to Abu Dhabi soon. People-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperations are flourishing, such as "Hundred Schools Project" and "China Cultural Week". With the continuous opening of new air routes and increasing the flight frequencies between the two countries, more and more UAE friends are choosing to visit, study, and work in China, strengthening the enduring friendship between the two countries. At this new starting point, China-UAE relations are flourishing and thriving, continuously injecting positive energy into the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

In conclusion, I sincerely wish our great motherland prosperity, long-lasting China-UAE friendship, and good health to President Xi Jinping and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan!
