On October 9, the 8th World Conservation Congress, hosted by the World Conservation Union (IUCN), was held in Abu Dhabi. During the congress, China's Ministry of Natural Resources held a Special Event themed "China's 'Two Mountains' Concept Promotes Transformative Conservation of Natural Resources." Chinese Ambassador to the UAE Zhang Yiming, IUCN Deputy Director-General Stuart, officials from relevant departments of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and nearly 100 representatives from various countries attended the IUCN Congress.

In his speech, Ambassador Zhang stated that this year marks the 20th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's proposal that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets." Guided by this concept, China has created remarkable ecological and development miracles that have attracted worldwide attention. China and the UAE have carried out extensive cooperation in green development and natural resource conservation, providing exemplary experience for regional sustainable development. China is willing to work with the UAE and other countries to enhance global ecological governance and jointly build a beautiful world where people and nature live in harmony.
