Upon celebrating the first International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations, on June 21, the first performance of the "VIP Classical China Edition" series of concerts hosted by the Chinese Embassy in the UAE and the "Conversation and Connection” of the International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations were held at the Dubai Opera Studio. More than 200 guests attended, including Chinese Ambassador to the UAE Zhang Yiming, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hasher Al Maktoum, a member of Dubai royal family, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Tourism, Ambassadors from various countries to the UAE, and celebrities in the UAE's cultural and artistic circles.

In his speech, Ambassador Zhang stated that in order to promote the dialogue between Chinese and Emirati civilizations, the Chinese Embassy in the UAE will hold a series of concerts within the year to tell the story of China-UAE friendship in the language of music.

The studio was packed with audience. Chinese young cellist Li La and pianist Huang Qiuning collaborated to perform "Poem of China”, "Seven Tunes Heard in China" and some world classics. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, they also performed a special excerpt from "Yellow River Cantata", which is called "Yellow Water Ballad".
