The First "Global South" Economic Forum was Held in Abu Dhabi

On June 17, the first "Global South" Economic Forum was successfully held at the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in the UAE Capital Abu Dhabi. UAE Minister of State Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh attended and delivered a keynote speech, and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yiming was invited to deliver a special speech. Nearly 200 people attended the forum, including former Malta Minister of Economy, Investment and Small Business Kadonna, Convener of India's Global South Geo-Economic Center, and Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy Director General Nickolay Mladenov, as well as former politicians, ambassadors from various countries to UAE, experts and scholars, and representatives of teachers and students from Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy.

In his speech, Ambassador Zhang stated that China, as a firm member of the "Global South", has always been committed to strengthening economic cooperation with the "Global South" countries and contributing wisdom and opportunities to the development of the "Global South" with Chinese modernization. China will continue to make good use of mechanisms such as the BRICS and the SCO, and work with other countries in the "Global South" including the UAE to promote the continuous improvement and upgrading of South-South cooperation, and inject more confidence and strength into the unity and cooperation of the "Global South".
