Notice on Chinese Visa Application Updates

From July 1st, 2022, the Chinese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates would accept visa applications with updates as follows:

1.Applicants applying for Z-visas can submit their applications with a valid Notification Letter of Foreigners Work Permit or Foreigner Work Permit along with other routine documents. The Invitation Letters (PU or TE) issued by relevant local Chinese authorities are no longer required.

2.Applicants visiting China for economic, trade, science, technology, and other activities can apply for M or F visas with a valid Invitation Letters issued by the relevant local Chinese authorities or companies, and other routine documents.

3.Foreign family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, parents-in-law, adult children and their spouses who really need to go to China) of the above-mentioned applicants (including foreigners who have been working in China) can apply for the corresponding types of visas with routine documents, without the need to provide Invitation Letters (PU or TE) issued by relevant local Chinese authorities. 

4.Foreign family members (including spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, children’s spouses, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren) of Chinese citizens or foreign nationals with permanent residence status in the Mainland of China can apply for Q1 or Q2 visas with proof of kinship and other routine documents.

5.Special reminders:

a. All applicants are required to fill in an online visa application form through the China Online Visa Application website (https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn) and make an appointment through Appointment for Visa Application Submission website (https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn) before submitting their application with supporting documents in person in our Embassy. Application without an online visa application form and a valid appointment will NOT be accepted.

b. Applicants for the above visa applications must submit their complete vaccination certificates of Covid-19 vaccine approved for emergency use by China or the World Health Organization with the applications.

c. Please always take necessary pandemic prevention measures.

d. Either Alhosn Green Pass or a negative PCR test result (valid for 3 days) is required for your appointment.
